米大陸横断電信システム開通 160周年

1861年10月24日、初の大陸横断電信システムが開通しました。

その後、1866年に大西洋横断海底電信ケーブルが完成、経済の発展とともに世界中に電信システムが伸びていきました。1891年の長距離電信線の敷設図がそれを物語っています。太平洋横断電信ケーブルの完成は1902年です。

On October 24, 1861, the first transcontinental telegraph system was inaugurated in USA.

After that, the transatlantic submarine telegraph cable was completed in 1866, and the telegraph system expanded all over the world with the development of the economy. The long-distance telegraph laying map (1891) illustrates this. The Trans-Pacific Telegraph Cable was completed in 1902.
